Champion Trophy Tour of Pakistan BCCI unlock refusal Reasons

The Champion Trophy 2025 is scheduled to begin from February 19. The hosting of this tournament, which will run till March 9, has been handed over to the Pakistan team. However, the Indian team has clearly refused to travel to Pakistan. The BCCI says that the government is not in favor of sending the team to Pakistan. Now the BCCI has also told the ICC the reason for this.

India and Pakistan do not even play bilateral series due to political tensions. Both countries play against each other only in ICC and Asian Cricket Council events. The Indian team last visited Pakistan in the year 2006.

Indian team will not go to Pakistan for Champion Trophy 2025

The Indian team will not travel to the neighboring country for the Champions Trophy 2025. However, the BCCI is ready to play the tournament in a hybrid model. On the other hand, the Pakistan Cricket Board has taken a tough stand. The PCB is not ready to organize the tournament in the ‘hybrid model. PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi has made it clear that the entire tournament will be played in Pakistan. The PCB has also sought an answer from the ICC as to why the Indian cricket team is not touring Pakistan.

Indian players will be targeted

According to a report, BCCI’s reply has a lot of mention of the fear of safety of the players of the Indian cricket team. According to the report, the reply that BCCI is sending to the ICC has a file with it which mentions terrorist incidents in Pakistan. Cross-border terrorism has been mentioned in it.

The report also mentions that Indian players could potentially be targets of terrorists in Pakistan. Even though the Indian cricket team gets a lot of love from the common people, there is always a possibility that terrorists can target the Indian cricket team. In 2009, the Sri Lankan team was attacked in Pakistan.
