BCCI abandons Pakistan tour: Unique option of the ICC

The PCB and BCCI are adamant on their decision. The responsibility of resolving the matter lies on the shoulders of the ICC. In such a situation, the ICC has only three options. The Champions Trophy should be postponed indefinitely. This decision can cause huge losses to the ICC and PCB. The Pakistan Cricket Board should agree to the BCCI’s hybrid model proposal. In such a situation, five out of 15 matches of the tournament will be played in the UAE. The Champions Trophy should be completely taken out of Pakistan. This decision may force the PCB to decide to completely withdraw its team’s participation from the tournament.

As we know that all the matches of Asia Cup 2023 were played not in Pakistan but in Sri Lanka on a neutral ground. So it is possible that Champions Trophy 2025 is also played on a neutral ground in UAE.. So the question is whether Pakistan will adopt it or not . This matter should be decided in the 2024 annual meeting. So possibly all the matches of the Indian team can be held outside Pakistan. A final solution is expected in the coming months.
